Arbor International School Hosts an Inspiring Hackathon – Codejam 2024

On July 6, 2024, Arbor International School witnessed a remarkable display of talent, teamwork, and technological innovation as the talented students of Grade 10, Veekshith, Pranav, Akshat, Jimit successfully hosted the Arbor Codejam, a school-wide hackathon. With over 80 participants and judges with real-world experience, this event was a resounding success and a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering creativity and innovation.

The Vision Behind Codejam

The goal of Arbor Codejam was to provide students from Grades 5 to 12 a platform to:

• Apply their coding and problem-solving skills in a competitive, yet collaborative environment.
• Cultivate leadership, teamwork, and communication abilities.
• Spark greater interest in STEM fields, inspiring students to aim for events like the Smart India Hackathon.

Event Highlights

The Hackathon event was held in the school’s state-of-the-art computer lab between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm, transforming it into a hub of innovation and energy.

Key Features:

• Team-Based Challenges: Students formed teams of three to tackle challenges and devise creative solutions within the given time.
• Expert Evaluation: Projects were judged on novelty, applicability, and impact by experienced professionals, who also shared insights from their real-world expertise.
• Mentorship: Teachers from various subjects provided valuable guidance throughout the event.
• Inclusive Participation: The hackathon encouraged inclusivity, with participants spanning Grades 5 to 12.
